Aline is a puzzle game. We designed it to work without knowing who you are: there is no account, no sign-up, and no advertising. This policy explains the small amount of data the game handles, in plain language.
Game progress (completed puzzles, stars, scores, settings, hint balance, stardust) is stored locally in the app's private storage. It never leaves your device except as described below.
If you play while online, your score (plus run duration and tiles cleared, used for cheat prevention) and your Puzzle of the Day streak are sent to our backend (hosted on Supabase) keyed to your anonymous install id. Leaderboard names shown in the game are whimsical handles generated from that anonymous id — you are never asked for, and we never store, a real name. You can play entirely offline; nothing is sent.
If you enable Settings → Share Stats, the game sends anonymous gameplay and performance events so we can see where the game is too hard, confusing, or slow. These events include:
All of it is tied only to your anonymous install id. No personal information, free text, contacts, photos, location, or advertising identifiers are ever included. Turning Share Stats off stops collection immediately and deletes any events still waiting to send.
Under the same Share Stats consent, crash reports (stack traces and basic device model / OS information — no personal data) are sent to Sentry (sentry.io), a third-party crash-reporting processor, so we can fix bugs. This is disabled when Share Stats is off.
Any time the app contacts our backend (for the features above), the server receives your device's IP address, as with any internet request. We use it only to deliver the response and to guard against abuse; we do not use it to build a profile of you or to track you, and we do not store it alongside your gameplay data for analytics.
In-app purchases are processed entirely by the App Store / Google Play. We receive a purchase receipt to deliver what you bought; we never see your payment details. Purchase entitlements are stored on your device and keyed to your anonymous install id for restore.
When you share a result, the image is created on your device and handed to your operating system's standard share sheet — you choose where it goes. Nothing is sent to our servers, and we do not track whether or where you share.
Aline does not collect personal information from anyone, including children. It contains no ads, no chat, and no user-generated content, and it does not track users. It is suitable for all ages.
Server-side data (leaderboard scores, Puzzle of the Day streak, and optional analytics) is keyed only to your anonymous install id. To delete it, contact us at the address above — because the id is anonymous we may ask for details like your leaderboard handle and approximate play times to locate the rows, and we will remove everything for that id. Deleting the app deletes all local data.
If this policy changes materially, the effective date above will be updated and the in-app link will point at the current version.
